About Me

Hello and welcome to The Lancashire Doula Practice.

I have worked in maternity care for over 20 years, supporting women and families through pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period. During this time I have attended numerous births.

These births have been a mixture of home-births, hospital maternity ward and even theatre births.

You can not plan a birth but together we can put together preferences and evidence-informed options, however all decisions are yours to make.

I love being outdoors, my pets and of course my family.

Practical Support

In addition to birth support, I have vast postnatal experience, helping families adjust to life with a newborn and offering reassurance during the early weeks of parenthood.

The early weeks can bring challenges to some families. Changes in relationships, sleep deprivation and family dynamics can all take their toll. That is when I can provide practical support - emotional support - or just a listening ear.

Having worked in the NHS I have witnessed the lack of support for families after birth - that is where I step in. I am happy to follow your lead and support you when needed.

A Personal Perspective

Alongside my professional experience in maternity care, I am also mum to four children.

My own experiences of pregnancy, birth and motherhood have given me a deep appreciation for how transformative and sometimes overwhelming this time can be.

Supporting families during this important stage of life is something I feel truly passionate about and it is a privilege to walk alongside parents as they welcome their babies into the world.
